"Adultification" pt 2

Part two of my original "adultification" post came a bit unexpectedly. I had planned to buy new furniture a few months ago to replace the mismatched college/batchelor pad furniture I had in my living room. Unfortunately, my financial situation changed when my brother moved out of the house and the bills became priority number one.

Recently however, my brother's girlfriend decided that she wanted a new L-shaped couch to replace the ones she already had and was kind enough to offer them to me for free. The only catch was that I would have to pick them up and clean them. I should note that she, at the time, had three dogs living with her and frequently used the couch themselves and there were a number of stains to deal with.

I decided it was worth giving the couches a try considering they were a nice microfiber and I had heard that it's pretty easy to clean. I wish I had taken a picture of the couches when I got them, and I don't want this blog to become an ad for OxiClean, but a single wash of the cushions with that stuff and they looked like they came right from the store. It was pretty impressive. Even better, there was little to no damage to the cushion padding so the couch works great. So, two couches ended up costing me a total of $8. Not too shabby.

Now I just have to find a place to put that white sofa. Hopefully it will sell in the garage sale I'll have in March.
