My Family Tree

From time to time, I get a urge to join ancestry.com and explore my family history. As I'm now married and hope to begin a family of my own I finally decided to take the plunge and signed up for a free two-week trial. It took me a couple days to figure out what I was doing but, once I did, the names started rolling in. This is really the beginning of what I hope to accomplish as I'd like to have as much information about my family as possible by the time my children are young adults.
So far I have at least 5 generations in every direction for both my wife and I. I've confirmed my mother's maternal lineage back to Prussia around WWI and I've got Jillian's Paternal lineage back to Ireland. Unfortunately, there are several dead ends I've come across; specifically my paternal lineage that either go back to Scotland or Ireland. I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point.
On a similar note, I received an unexpected present for Christmas from my mother. She had apparently heard that I was collecting family information so she found a copy of my grandmothers memoirs from her time served in WWII. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a pdf copy on this blog at some point. That, and my family tree diagram.
