I'm going to try to reform that rediculous list of what I thought were the 10 greatest inventions to ever grace the minds of men.....( I may have changed a couple since last time... and they aren't in the correct order... so forgive me)
1. The Microwave oven
2. the combustion engine
3. Automatic doors (solely for the purpose that children.. and those young at heart can still pretend to have magical powers)
4. escalators / elevators
5. plastic (specifically the water balloon)
6. tanning beds
7. the silicon chips in atari's
8. the belt (clothing not mechanical)
9. erosal cans
10. the bikini
(Jules if you remember the complete, real list let me know what I goofed on)
dishonorable mentions: (would have made the list if not for unfortunate downside)
*the telephone. It may have improved communication, but it eventually destroyed privacy and manners.
*DDT. perks in the 50's: excelent pesticide, controlled malaria and typhoid. downside: may cause cancer and kills birds
